Why
Upgrade to Fully Modulating Technology?
You can improve the air quality and temperature balance throughout your home by upgrading from a standard multi-speed furnace to
a Maytag modulating furnace. Unlike the multi-speed blower which is designed to operate at a fixed speed, the modulating furnace constantly adjusts its firing capacity to meet the needs of your home. The Maytag iQ Drive furnace operates anywhere from 15% to 100% of its capacity, based on your home’s needs. The furnace analyzes the indoor temperature every 60 seconds and adjusts its percentage of firing accordingly. You’ll notice a more uniform mix of air throughout your home, with virtually no hot or cold spots.
The reason for the improved comfort is that a single-stage furnace is sized to deliver full heating capacity for the coldest of days and does not adjust for mild days, which results in noticeable temperature variations. A modulating furnace reduces these temperature variations since it adjusts based on the heating load. The air is circulated and filtered more often because the furnace runs more frequently. This option can also improve your outdoor air conditioning system efficiency.
Modulating technology is also extremely quiet and minimizes the abrupt change in sound found when a standard single-stage furnace motor cycles on and off.
